Whole Wheat Waffles


1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 large egg

1 1/2 cups warm milk

3 tablespoons melted butter or neutral oil

1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional).

  1. Whisk dry ingredients together, whisk wet ingredients together. 
  2. Pour wet ingredients into dry and mix just until combined, lumps are ok! 
  3. Pour into waffle iron and cook until golden brown. 

*this batter can be used to make pancakes too! Add fruit or chocolate chips into batter for more variety.
